Calling all OPTIMIST SAILORS
(ie. those not going to Youth Nationals)
VOLVO OCEAN RACE organisers are hosting a Youth Academy Day at the Cape Town stopover of the race on Saturday, 9 December 08h30 – 18h30.
Their aim is to give Cape Town youth sailors an amazing experience and an opportunity to be involved in the Volvo stop over.
The provisional timetable for the Academy Day is as follows :-
9 am Arrival
9.30 am Welcome talk
9.45 am – 10 am Sustainability talk
10 – 10.45 am Team base and boat tour
11 am – 4 pm Racing
5 – 6.30 pm Barbecue and prize giving
Optimists will be supplied by Volvo.
Jetty 2 is where all the action takes place.
A Sailors Terrace available for relaxing (at the Volvo Village).
