Matt finishes 2nd out of 66 in the Green Fleet at the Mediterranean Regatta (Pre-Worlds) 2018 sailed out of the Famagusta Nautical Club, Limassol Cyprus.
Matt used the regatta to get back into racing mode, especially since breaking his collarbone in late July. More importantly, it provided him with the opportunity to understand local conditions and to experiment. He didn’t sail all the races ,on purpose. He learnt loads and had fun.
He gave me a wonderful birthday present by getting a bullet on my birthday. In the morning’s before racing we would do some fitness training which included swimming, running ,stretching , catching balls and sweating lots. Heat has been draining… staying hydrated and resting is crucial.
Matt knows many sailors and coaches from around the world and Team GBR kindly allowed Claire to share the RIB with them.
There is a big buzz around the club, with everyone willing to assist.
